Conference fee for patient delegates
A conference fee of EUR 500 per delegate will be invoiced to the participant in the name of the Leukemia Patient Advocates Foundation, Switzerland, in advance of the meeting. The conference fee covers
- max 4 nights of accommodation,
- local transportation from Frankfurt airport to the conference and back.
- food and drinks (breakfast, lunch and dinner), during the conference.
- Free wifi internet in conference rooms, and in bedrooms too.

Participants are expected to cover their own travel to Frankfurt airport (e.g. flights). The conference fee does not cover incidental costs like bar, mini-bar, phone calls, taxi costs, upgrades for double rooms, relatives attending the conference, and any other non-official activities.
Payment of the conference fee must arrive before the start of the conference. It must also be paid in case of cancellations later than 30 days before the conference. The conference fee should be paid by wire transfer to the foundation. Should another postal address be required on the invoice for the conference fee, the delegate must provide a note during the electronic registration process, stating the full postal address and the name of the organization who will pay the conference fee.
For those that cannot find organisations or sponsors to cover the costs to attend the conference, see our Scholarship page
Conference fee and travel costs for representatives of the sponsors
Sponsors' delegates are also expected to register at the registration website. Room bookings will then be made by the logistics agency. Pharma representatives are expected to settle their room costs at the hotel. We will organise their individual local transport to the conference venue if they provide us with their flight details at least two weeks before the conference. Costs for attending the conference, including the daily delegate rate and all meals, will be covered by us and will not be invoiced to pharma representatives.

CML Advocacy Best Practice presentations at CML Horizons 2017
What is the Advocacy Best Practice Sharing session?
The CML Advocacy Best Practice session, to be held on Saturday 27 May 2017 will include very short presentations and concise, focused discussions on successful advocacy topics held by your groups. The presentations should describe a key initiative that you have implemented, of which other CML patient organisations could learn from and where they may also be inspired to do the same. You should also share what went right and potentially what went wrong and what you would do differently next time. The presentations should NOT be about your organisation as such.
The aim of the session is to provide participants with the opportunity to learn from the initiatives and experience of other CML organisations in these advocacy areas, not to learn about specific patient organisations as such.
Participants are now invited to submit abstracts for this session until 15 April 2017. The CML Horizons Steering Committee will then review all abstracts and select those that will be presented during the session.
What is the format of the session? How am I expected to present?
The CML Advocacy Best Practice session consists of 8 short (maximum 6 minutes, maximum 6 slides) plenary presentations covering an initiative of an advocacy topic. Each of the presentations will be followed by 4 minutes discussion. The presentations should not be about the organisation but about one particular initiative or activity.
How can I submit an abstract?
Abstracts submissions are now closed. Thank you so much for your participation!
What happens after I have submitted the abstract?
The CML Steering Committee will review the abstracts and select which ones will be presented during the CML Advocacy Best Practice session. If your abstract is not selected, please feel encouraged to bring a poster with you to the meeting to display in the poster area.
Participants will be informed 3 weeks before the conference, to give you enough time to prepare your presentation. The slides must be provided at least 9 days prior to the conference, to be reviewed. Please note the number of slides should not exceed 6 slides.

City of Frankfurt
Frankfurt am Main, the dynamic and international financial and trade fair city with the most imposing skyline in Germany. This is the image that many visitors associate with the Main metropolis. But the city in the heart of Germany and Europe can offer many other facets and contrasting variety. Near to the skyscrapers you can find cosy Ebbelwei pubs and at the heart of the bustling city centre you can find historical sights again and again. Frankfurt is not just proud of its most famous son, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. The Kaiserdom (Cathedral) and the Paulskirche, the cradle of German democracy, are also to be found here. Interesting destinations for excursions in and around Frankfurt turn your stay into a great experience and you will love to come back.(source: http://www.frankfurt.de/sixcms/detail.php?id=317596)

Rhine River Tour on Sunday
Frankfurt am Main - the financial centre, the European city, the traffic hub, the smallest metropolis in the world, is a city full of surprises and contrast. When you think of the city on the Main, you thing of the airport, the Paulskirche and the Goethe, the Stock Exchange, the Book Fair and the skyline. With a history that stretches from the Celt, Romans and Franks, up to being the financial powerhouse of today as well as being one of he most diverse cities in Europe. No doubt about it: Frankfurt brings opposites together in the most fruitful way and in a most enjoyable manner, the advantages of a global city with tranquility. A city with a savori-vivre, in whose streets multilingualism is an accepted way of life. Yet often only a few steps seperate global city flair and homey cosiness in Frankfurt.
Did you know that the Rhine is one of the longest and most important river in Europe. It runs for over 1,320 km (766 miles) from its source in the Swiss Alps, issuing from the Rheinwaldhorn Glacier 3,353 m above sea level. The Rhine flows through 6 countries - Switzerland, Principality of Liechenstein, Austria, Germany, France and The Netherlans before flowing into the North Sea at Rotterdam.
For those interested, we will be offering an optional 3.5 hour tour of the Ryne river on Sunday afternoon. This will not be an official part of the program, and those who will like to join this tour will need to register at the registration website or at the hospitality desk at the hotel .
For any questions regarding the conference, please contact Lidija Pecova (lidija@lepaf.org) +389 7838 8235, Giora Sharf (giora1@inter.net.il)
