BRIEF DESCRIPTION

Since 2007, our organization has been organized to improve access to diagnosis and treatment of CML patients in Kyrgyzstan.

All patients with CML in Kyrgyzstan were combined for diagnosis and treatment at the National Center for Oncology and Hematology. All patients with CML in our country, this is about 250 patients are members of our foundation.

We help patients with CML in Kyrgyzstan to understand their illness, receive the necessary diagnostics and treatment. Our organization has contact with family members of all patients so that they understand their illness, support them psychologically, explain the illness, help: if there is any problem.

Considering that in our country there was no access to diagnostics for monitoring bcr-abl, with the help of The Max Foundation, we acquired a Cephoide equiment . We have the supervisory board of our organization, 1 or 2 times a month we are going to solve various issues. Our organization is also actively involved in issues of patients with hematological diseases in Kyrgyzstan.

Organisational objectives

The goal of our organization is to raise awareness of the needs of people living with CML in Kyrgyzstan.

Our organization is in Kyrgyzstan initiating various events on World CML Day to raise awareness of the needs of patients living with CML in our country and attract the attention of the public, politicians, government, health ministry and health workers.

Until 2003, patients with CML did not receive appropriate assistance in the form of diagnosis and treatment in our country. In 2003, Dr. Baizakova Damira united all patients with CML in our country on the basis of the National Center of Oncology and Hematology (children and adults), so that patients with CML receive modern diagnostics and treatment.

If in 2003 there were only 6 patients, then currently more than 250 patients with CML have access to modern diagnostics and treatment.

In 2008, our non-profit organization “Patients with chronic myeloid leukemia in Kyrgyzstan” was established to attract attention and improve the awareness of patients with CML in our country. Our organization organizes various events every year of World CML Day. The initiator of the creation of our organization was Damira Baizakova.
