ALAN is proud to be involved in groundbreaking work that provides clear recommendations for assessing fitness in patients with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). This effort aims to improve how treatment decisions are made — not only based on clinical data, but also by integrating what truly matters to patients: their quality of life, preferences, and personal values.

A person’s “fitness” plays a vital role in determining which treatment options are appropriate. However, this term refers not just to physical strength or endurance — but a broader evaluation of a patient’s ability to tolerate specific treatments.
