BRIEF DESCRIPTION

We are a none profit organization founded in 2007, staffed by professionals committed to providing psychosocial support, information, advocacy and advisory to children, youngsters with cancer and adults with leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma and other hemato-oncological diseases, as well as to their carers and families, in all related to their sickness and health system in Colombia.

KEY OBJECTIVES AND KEY INITIATIVES

The Colombian Foundation of Leukemia and Lymphoma was inspired in similar organizations around the world focused on these two types of cancer. In Colombia, there was a lack of a foundation oriented specifically in the most frequent cancers in childhood and adulthood, leukemia and lymphoma.

Yolima Méndez, as the director of the foundation and family of a patient, knows the needs of people with cancer in the country, and so she decided to found FCL to develop actions and strategies aimed to abate the impact generated by the disease on patients and their families.

The foundation focuses today on informing, orienting, educating and providing psychosocial support to people living with leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma and other hemato-oncological diseases, as well as their families and carers.
