We’re excited to announce that 23rd CML Horizons is coming to the historic city of Bucharest, Romania, from 23-25 May 2025! This year’s event is shaping up to be an exceptional gathering, bringing together experts, advocates, and patient leaders in a hybrid format that makes it easier than ever to be part of this global event. Whether you’re joining us in person or online, we’re looking forward to an unforgettable few days of learning, collaboration, and advancing CML care.
This year, we’ll hear from top experts such as Dr. Lipton, Dr. Dragana Milojkovic, and other distinguished speakers, soon to be confirmed, who will explore the latest clinical advancements and their impact on patients. Topics like Treatment-Free Remission (TFR), shared decision-making, Quality of Life (QoL) measurement, and innovations in CML treatment are just the beginning. We’ll also explore overcoming the challenges of TKI treatment and the role of AI in transforming healthcare. Don’t miss our Best Practice Session and the Dr-Patient Perspective Panel, where we’ll focus on real-world CML.
Alongside these expert-led sessions, we’ll host hands-on workshops on Enhancing Leadership, Collaboration, and Peer Support in Patient Organizations and Advocacy for Patient-Centered Care. These workshops are designed to give you practical tools to take your advocacy and leadership efforts to the next level.
By submitting a poster, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to showcase your work in a dedicated poster area, where it will be featured for all attendees to view. Plus, as an added incentive, you can bring a second delegate with their conference fee waived (note: travel and costs will still apply for the second delegate). This year, we’re also hosting in-person regional meetings across all six regions, with the common theme of Strengthening Patient Organisations & Leadership. These sessions will provide a unique opportunity for advocates from each region to share experiences, tackle challenges, and collaborate on strategies to strengthen patient organisations and leadership efforts.
Plus, we’ll be seeing Steering Committee Nominations for the North America region, where the term ends.

Please note: Romania is part of the Schengen Area, so visa requirements WILL apply. If you need a visa, please register by 28 February 2025 to give yourself enough time for processing. During May, there could be an introduction to new Entry Exit System (EES) System for registering non-EU nationals travelling for a short stay in 29 European countries and European Travel Information and Authorisation System and/or (ETIAS) requirements for travellers to Europe, but these have not yet been launched.
