Member’s description
AMACAS-LMC is a patient association dedicated to support diagnosed blood cancer individuals.
The association was created in 2012. For a good number of years, the association activities were at a stop, till 2023 when a group of newly diagnosed CML patients decided to revive and push forward its activities.
The association is committed to raising awareness about the challenges of living with blood cancer, advocate for better healthcare policies, treatment options and bringing up to date information to patients with CML, their families and caregivers.
The association provides a supportive community for patients, offering guidance through their treatment journey, offers resources, emotional support and advocacy.
AMACAS-LMC aims to empower patients and foster solidarity among those navigating the challenges of living with CML.
Organizational objectives and key programs
– Fight for the accessibility and availability of medications.
– Make the PCR Test available at a low cost in Cameroon for all CML Patients.
– Improve the quality of life of leukemia patients through moral, emotional, logistical and financial support.
– Represent and defend the interest of leukemia patients with the government, organizations and associations in the health field.
– Educate the population about Leukemia and clear out the stigma and stereotype around cancer.
– Affiliate our association with organizations fighting cancer for better visibility.
– Bring together all leukemia patients in Cameroon.
