To the memory of our dearly departed friend. We will miss you with all our hearts. We may have lost you but your spirit lives on long after you’re gone.

It is with deep sadness that we inform the CML community about the passing of our friend, colleague, and CML patient advocate Euzebiusz Jan Dziwiński on 5th December 2021, at the age of 71.

CML Advocates Network loses a close friend who was also a very active patient advocate and member of the CML family from the outset of the global network.

Euzebiusz was Vice-President of the National Association for Chronic Myeloid Leukemia in Poland, member of the CML Advocates Network Steering Committee in 2011, co-author of the publication “Factors influencing adherence in CML and ways to improvement: Results of a patient-driven survey of 2546 patients in 63 countries” in 2017 and member of the TFR Working Group of the network among other important advocacy roles and was devoted to helping patients we will always remember his tireless efforts and contributions he made to make a difference in the lives of people with CML.

Euzebiusz was a very special person, extremely honest, noble and brotherly. He was always working restlessly for benefit of CML patients with humility and kindness, participating in all CML Horizons Conferences and remarkably joining World CML Day awareness every year.

The whole CML global community is crying this tragic loss and many CML advocates are expressing heartfelt condolence words. Some of those sympathy messages are:

“We are deeply sad. Euzebiusz was a real gentleman and we miss him.”

“Our sincere condolences and prayers go out to his wife Stanislawa, his son Bartosz and his family.”

“Euzebiusz was such a warm, always courteous, humble and polite person. I will miss him very much and always carry him in my heart.”

“He was a very warm and lovely person. He had a big heart and always sincere and kind words to all of us.”

“God give peace and support to his family, friends and the CML community. Now, he is a Star in the sky.”

“CML patients and families have suffered a great loss in Poland and around the world. Euzebiusz you are missed greatly!”

“I have learned a lot from him. And I am sure that his ideas will be understood and realised in the years to come.”

We will miss you very much, dear Euzebiusz, and we wish for his family a lot of strength in these difficult times. Rest in peace.
