WORLD CML DAY 2021
“20 years of life-changing CML therapies BUT Worldwide access is still needed”
Global CML Awareness is led every year by the CML Advocates Network on the 22nd of September. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness about the needs of patients suffering from chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) all over the world. It is our goal to engage all stakeholders and the general public as part of this campaign.
In 2021, Imatinib (Glivec), the first target therapy approved for CML, will mark its 20-year anniversary of approval, transforming the outlook for many CML patients. Despite this, CML patients in many countries around the world still lack access to standard treatment and monitoring tools. As a result, our campaign this year emphasizes the following message: “20 years of life-changing CML therapies BUT Worldwide access is still needed”.
